Leuven, Belgium, February 18, 2010 – Mephisto Design Automation (MDA), a leading EDA tool innovator in the space of analog, mixed-signal and custom-digital design, today announced that imec, a world-leading independent nanoelectronics research center headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, will collaborate with MDA RF circuit design within imec's green radios program using MDA's customer proven product M-Design™.

M-Design offers analog and mixed-signal designers immediate productivity gains for their front-end design tasks. Moreover, the platform facilitates setting up and executing complex simulations, verifications and optimization, even across different abstraction levels. The tool also provides support for process migrations, fully automatic documentation and IP reuse.

Imec will start using the tool in the imec green radios program to support their most advanced RF circuit design activity for technologies down to 40nm. Imec's green radio research program works today on reconfigurable technology solutions for the mobile terminals of tomorrow. "MDA welcomes imec, a world-leading nanoelectronics research center, as an advanced customer of our M-Design platform," stated Kenneth Francken, CEO of MDA. "We are confident that the continuously improving capabilities of our M-Design platform will significantly contribute to imec's success."
